When 15-year-old Andrew L. began to brainstorm the topic of his Eagle Scout Project, he knew it had to benefit his community. But, not just any task would suffice; inspired by a TOMS community event the prior year, he wanted it to make a big impact in the lives of others. After hearing about a family who fosters children with disabilities that had recieved a donation of an unassembled playground that was still in pieces in their backyard, Andrew knew he had found his project. However, in order to succeed, he knew he would need to enlist the support of his friends, neighbors and family for engineering expertise, hardware and helping hands. After rallying his community Andrew and 40 others we able to assemble the playground in four days and watch as the family's kids got to play on it for the first time. Upon reflecting on his experience, Andrew expressed that what had started as a project to earn his Eagle Scout ranking turned into so much more. "What a feeling...I have learned that all things are possible and we CAN change the world, no matter what age we are. Thanks TOMS for being such a great inspiration to so many!"
