INTRODUCING
POLARIZED LENSES
The perfect innovation for sun
season, polarized lenses are
enhanced with filters to block
harmful glare and UV rays, so you
can enjoy sharper images, brighter
colors and reduced eyestrain.
This past spring, ChildSight®, the domestic program of our Sight Giving Partner, Helen Keller International (HKI), visited an intermediate school on the first of many trips to underprivileged neighborhoods around L.A. to provide students with vision screenings and give new glasses to those who needed them.
After being tested, each student picked out new frames from an eclectic selection - a "cool" selection - which makes all the difference. HKI's Nancy Prail explained how regularly changing the frames to keep up with current styles really helps the kids embrace wearing their glasses - which can be a challenge during this age when they are so self-conscious.
Within a week, ChildSight® returned to give the children the new glasses that were provided thanks to TOMS Eyewear purchases. This was the first pair of glasses for many of the kids, including Amy, a quiet 6th grader who loves cheerleading and is far-sighted.
"I couldn't see close up so I had to squint to read," she told us. With her new glasses, now she won't have to.
No matter what their prescription, each child returned to class with clear vision - a better chance to succeed in school and in life.
TOMS partners with Seva Foundation and a network of professional, community based eye care organizations all over the world to provide:
