Monica's canvas for self-expression
The TOMS Artist Series celebrates six of our favorite artists based in Los Angeles who are illustrating the important role that self expression plays in supporting mental health. For our first limited edition drop, we’re proud to partner with illustrator Monica Ahanonu and bring her “Diva Red Lips” print to life. The Alp is Monica’s canvas for self expression. And yours, too.

Speaking out about mental health
Monica advocates for people opening up about any struggles they are experiencing and seeking out resources. “TOMS shares a lot of the same personal values I hold, particularly in the area of boosting mental health,” she says. And that includes, “Encouraging people to speak out about their mental health and not be afraid to talk about it and get help if they need it.” In her art, Monica embraces exploring the full spectrum of emotions. “I try to represent authentic emotions and not only happy emotions in my work,” she says.
