TOMS X PRINTGONZALEZ

TOMS honors Día de los Muertos with a limited-edition collaboration featuring Xicanx printmaker Daniel González.

With this collaboration, Daniel González honors departed loved ones with prints inspired by his heritage.

“I wanted to create a design that incorporated the skull because it’s an image that’s relatable to Day of the Dead. But I wanted to do it from a different point of view. So I found a skull from Mesoamerican art and Mexica art. I looked at artworks created around the Templo Mayor and I incorporated those into the design,” says Daniel. “Partnering with TOMS has given me the opportunity to give a different voice to Día de los Muertos, which is a very beautiful tradition that I think a lot of people misunderstand. And I’m happy that I get to share this vision.”

With every TOMS purchase, you help to support organizations like Self Help Graphics & Art, which provides access to space, training, and capital for Chicano/a and Xicanx artists, like Daniel González, in Boyle Heights, CA.
