In Response to Typhoon Haiyan

November 13, 2013 by TOMS

Our deepest sympathy is with those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in Southeast Asia. Typhoon Hayian is affecting an estimated 9.5 million children and families in the Philippines, Laos and Vietnam. The destruction is overwhelming.  Several of TOMS Giving Partners are on the ground providing urgently needed relief and resources to survivors.  They are working to coordinate with local governments and other agencies to assess the needs and develop effective relief and recovery plans.

At this time, our partners are delivering urgently needed food, water and medicine to those affected.  Their top priority at this stage is to meet survivors’ immediate needs and monitor and respond to outbreaks of infection

TOMS has contacted Giving Partners responding to Typhoon Haiyan to offer our support of new shoes. We are positioned to respond quickly and will provide shoes when and where it will benefit our Giving Partners’ relief and recovery efforts, likely once immediate needs like sanitation, food and shelter have been met.

Our Giving Partners are working around the clock to help those affected.  We ask every member of the TOMS community to consider lending support to their critical efforts on the ground in the Philippines:
