The Tomorrows Project: Ears for Julian

Employee Name: Rose Jones Title:  Senior Designer, Women’s Footwear  Tomorrows Project: Ears for Julian Tagline: Ears for Julian  What is your Tomorrows Project? My Tomorrows Project was to get Julian, a spirited seven-year-old boy, external ears. Julian is the son of my close friends Lisa and Dan and was born with a condition called Bilateral Microtia and Artresia. This is a congenital birth defect that affects about 1 in 25,000 births. His external ears, ear canals and much of his inner ear anatomy did not develop in utero. Not only was he born without ears, but also with moderate hearing loss. He…

The TOMS UK Secret Garden Stage

With the festival season upon us, we wanted to take you back to our fifth TOMS UK team’s Secret Garden Stage at a one-day festival in London, UK, Bushstock, Saturday 18th June, organised by our friends at Communion. Words by Charlotte, UK Marketing Tucked away on a residential road in Shepherd’s Bush, think rows and rows of town houses, wondering ‘where is this TOMS Secret Garden Stage’, and then you spot a small but organised queue outside someone’s house. Could this be it? There’s a chalkboard with the line-up on it, so it must be the right place. The queue…

THE TOMORROWS PROJECT

In January 2016, TOMS introduced The Tomorrows Project to our employees, giving them an opportunity to be ambassadors for good. Since it’s inception, we have seen an overwhelming response of new projects from sending kids to grief camp to refurbishing end-of-life laptops to donate to a local children’s non-profit. What is The Tomorrows Project? The Tomorrows Project is a unique program that TOMS Founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie came up with to empower TOMS employees to become social entrepreneurs and ambassadors for good. We created a digital platform for employees to post their ideas (such as build a…

TOMS April Fools

April 1 has arrived and we couldn’t help but join in on the April Fools Day fun! We decided to pull a few pranks of our own at the TOMS Flagship Community Outpost in LA. We loved seeing the smiles on customers’ faces when they opened their TOMS shoe box to find something other than a pair of shoes. We documented the whole thing on Snapchat:

As Seen In ‘Joy’ The Movie

We’re HUGE fans of all things Jennifer Lawrence over here at TOMS so we just about lost it when she popped up in one of this season’s biggest movies wearing none other than TOMS Eyewear. In ‘Joy’ – the real-life story about the home-shopping superstar housewife Joy Mangano who invented the Miracle Mop – you can find JLaw wearing our Navigator 201 frames. The Navigator 201 features a classic shape. We we’re inspired by the pilot frame, and combined more angular lenses with metal-alloy eye wires and acetate temples. The double-bridge look is finished off with hand-finished stripes at the…

Travel to Botswana with the TOMS Animal Initiative

Founder of the TOMS Animal Initiative, Heather Mycoskie, was inspired to start the TOMS Animal Initiative when she learned that wild lions are at risk of being extinct. Through the TOMS Animal Initiative, we partner with nonprofit animal conservation organizations to drive awareness and funding for global animal protection. Recently Heather traveled to Botswana to join National Geographic Explorers-in-Residence, Dereck and Beverly Joubert, who founded the Big Cats Initiative with National Geographic in 2009. For the latest TOMS Animal Initiative, we are excited to partner with National Geographic and support its critical nonprofit work through the Big Cats Collection. Inspired…

Thankful Day at TOMS

One of our favorite and most time-honored traditions at TOMS is coming together as a company and giving thanks- for the good times, for the lessons and for each other. When we were a young and busy company, first starting out, we gathered together for a potluck and went around in a circle thanking each other. We said thanks for the little things; for the words of encouragement, the laughs and the small favors. We said thanks for the bigger things as well; the late nights, the long days and the constant hustle. And through this, TOMS Thankful Day was…
