These were my first pair of Toms. I got them at the start of last summer (09). They still look good, but the heal did split on both shoes.
I also have a pair of the brown Cordones, and they have held up great--even in the crazy snow this winter!
I recommend Toms for everyone I know, but the fact is, as cool as it looks, burlap just is not a tough as some of the other materials used in Toms Shoes.
