Meet the Founder

BRITTANY MERRILL UNDERWOOD
GIVE US THE ELEVATOR PITCH FOR YOUR COMPANY

We empower women in rural villages by training and employing them to make exceptional products that generate revenues that are fully returned to the women and their communities.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT TO YOU?

Women are 80% of the workforce in East Africa and culturally responsible for taking care of disadvantaged children. If all women in East Africa where given opportunity, there would be no need for orphanage ministries.

EXPLAIN HOW EACH PRODUCT DOES GOOD.

All products are made by or assembled by our women’s groups in Uganda. They are paid double fair trade wages, and 100% of our net profits are returned to their community. We build the entire infrastructure for opportunity in their communities, including drilling water wells and building vocational centers.

HOW DO YOU MEASURE THE IMPACT OF YOUR PRODUCTS?

When a woman is able to provide for her family and has the skills become an entrepreneur, we have done our job!

WHAT'S YOUR LONG-TERM GOAL FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

To create a global fashion brand that fully benefits marginalized women. In 2014, we are expanding to provide an economic alternative for sexually trafficked women in Dallas.
