Intern Blog #4: Letting the days go by..

Salut Internet!

It’s that time again, yes, Intern Update time! This past week (and the weeks to come) are chock-full of excitement, projects, and special events/updates. As you might have heard through our Twitter and Facebook updates Blake participated in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM Tournament and placed 3rd! TOMS Intern Natasha Ballard was fortunate enough to attend so this week she’ll be the featured intern! Below she tells a bit about herself and how the weekend went:

"I have been working with TOMS marketing team since August of last year. I grew up in Southern California and studied Integrated Marketing Communications and Women’s Studies at San Diego State University while working in social media and event planning. I have worked on many exciting projects at TOMS including One Millionth Pair, Movember, One Day Without Shoes, and other festivals and SYS events. I just got back from the Pebble Beach Pro-Am where we held a Style Your Sole event for the players and their families. Selected guests including PGA TOUR players Charley Hoffman, Mark Wilson, Hunter Mahan, Rory Sabatinni and Jonathan Byrd, as well as, actor Bill Murray, recording artist Darius Rucker and San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain styled TOMS for auction to benefit the PGA Wives Association, a charity for children."

Thanks so much for the info Natasha and for all of your hard work! You can see more pictures from the event here or here.

Basically all of us interns are working on many projects some, like Natasha's, required travel and some require working on the weekends. For example, four of our Retail Sales Interns (Drew, Ben, Reese, and Grace) all worked Style Your Sole Events at various Whole Foods locations this past weekend. Read the post recapping the events below, or just click here. If you want an internship where responsibility is low and where you do everything in regular business hours, then TOMS Internship is not for you. On the other hand, if you want a unique a experience where you're thrust into an enviroment where creativity meets productivity and where you're given real projects with deadlines and expectations, then this is what you're looking for. I feel I can speak for all of the current interns that working here has exceeded expectations thus far.

Apologies for this weeks post being so devoid of pictures, I'll make up for it next week. I'd like to close this post with some advice that was just given to the interns at our most recent intern lunch:

"Whatever it is that you're passionate about, whatever it is that you love; there is a job out there for you."  - Candice Wolfswinkel

Thanks and see you next week!

Summer Internships

Lovely updates and a quick question,

When will the Summer 2011 Intern applications be up? I am dying to try and get a position with Toms, a dream for over 2 years.

Thanks!
